All You Need to Know About Personal Protective Equipment

In the early days of the pandemic, demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) soared. This has led to serious supply shortages as competition between countries has increased.

To remedy the situation, UNICEF conducted joint tenders for the completion of long-term PPP supply contracts on behalf of 13 UN organizations. You can also have a peek at https://www.planethalohealth.com/collections/kf94-mask for KF94 face mask online.

This agreement not only improves accessibility and access but also helps prevent the risk of stock shortages during future health crises. The use of personal protective equipment – especially medical masks – has become commonplace for people around the world. However, PPE is more than just a medical mask.

This includes gowns, goggles, gloves, face shields, and other items used by medical supplies and other key workers. Proper use of guaranteed quality PPE is essential to prevent exposure to infectious diseases, including COVID-19.

The demand for PPE with guaranteed quality remains high. UNICEF continues to play an important role in the purchase and supply of PPE. Since the pandemic began, UNICEF has shipped more than 653.4 million items of PPE to 140 countries as part of the COVID-19 response.

This was made possible with funding from various sources including the UNICEF Appeal for Humanitarian Action for Children and donations from the Danish government for OCT-A (ACT-A SFF).

The threat of disease outbreaks other than COVID-19 has not disappeared. PPE remains an important part of emergency preparedness and response to potentially fatal infectious diseases.
